Description

Access is usually given to a team rather than to a person, and re-granting the same access to every new colleague is both tedious and easy to get wrong. A group is a named set of users that can be used anywhere a user can be used as the target of access.

A group holds no permissions of its own: it is a target, not a container of rights. Groups do not contain other groups, and a user may belong to several.
